A custom made map can be used to mark a special event, such as a birthday, an anniversary, a wedding location, a much loved holiday destination.

Or it could be something as simple as where you take your dog for their favourite walk.

Custom made maps are a fantastic gift for all map users.

The map can be centred on the location of your choice, with unique personalisation of the text included in the map legend.

You can even add a picture of your own choice to the front cover to make it extra-personal to you.

We also offer a framing service that allows you to have your custom made map professionally framed and delivered ready for you to display at home or in the office.

The folded and flat map custom made options are printed on the same high-quality materials as the standard OS map series.

Customised to your own design

Custom made maps allow you to create your own personalised map with one of OS’s signature styles – either Explorer or Landranger. Custom made maps are brilliant for both practical and display purposes and are therefore available in 3 different options:

• folded map with customised cover
• flat map for planning your adventures
• framed and canvas maps for display

Custom made maps are printed at our factory in Frome, using the latest digital print technology, so you can be assured of a quality product you will enjoy for many years, and which your family and friends will love too.

Considering each map is made to an individual order, delivery is still very quick, with standard delivery being 3 to 5 working days. Of course, should you need your map quicker than this, a 2 working day courier service is also available.

Framed and canvas products are handmade, so will take a little longer due to the care that goes into creating them. They will therefore take between 7 to 10 working days to arrive with you.

How do I create my own Custom made map?

 1.  Choose your location

A Custom made map has the ability to site-centre on any location you choose within mainland UK, which makes them ideal for both personal use or to be given as a gift or memento of a special occasion. To choose the location for your map centre point, begin by focusing on your favourite area.

2.  Choose your centre point

To fine-tune your location, you can position the map to adjust the centre point and the area that is to be printed. You can preview your map to check the area you want is fully covered and to ensure the map is centred exactly where you want it to be.

3.  Choose your preferred print option

There are several choices available, so whether you’re looking for a traditional folded map to fit into your rucksack, a flat rolled map that is perfect for planning trips from home, or one of our framed and canvas options, which are ideal for display, there is an option to suit everyone.

Now for the fun bit, where the map truly becomes your own:

4.  Choose your title

What title will your map have? You have up to 5 lines to create the perfect personalised title for your map, which will also appear on the cover of the folded version. This is your chance to be creative, just like the example shown here of Frynse the dog and her favourite walks.

5.  Choose your photo

If you choose to have a folded map with a cover, you’ll be able to upload a cover image of your own. Alternatively, you can choose one from the extensive Ordnance Survey library.

And that’s it! It really is as simple as that to create your very own personalised, Custom made map.
