Looking for somewhere to print high-quality posters? Then look no further! At Dennis Maps we can print posters in any size you choose, and we specialise in large format printing – a service many printers don’t offer. As well as size, there are many other factors to consider, including materials and flat and folded options. Here are all the factors to take into account when printing your posters.
Size it up
How large would you like your posters to be? We’d advise thinking about the distance your audience will be from the posters and where they will be displayed, so you choose posters with text and images that can be easily seen. Large format posters have exceptional visual impact, but small and medium sized posters can be impactful too. Dennis Maps prints posters ranging from A4 up to a customised size that’s larger than A0, so you can choose the size that works best for you.
Single or double sided?
We can print posters either single or double sided, depending on how much information you need to fit onto your product. We’re always happy to offer advice, if you’re not sure which option to go for.
Flat or folded?
Would you like your poster to be flat or folded? Our expert team can produce either. At Dennis Maps we can print posters and trim them to size, leaving them flat. Alternatively, we can print large format posters and fold them down to a useful size, that creates a fantastic fold-out promotional product. For example, an 841mm x 1189mm (A0 poster) can be folded down to 297mm X 210mm (A4). This is a service many printers don’t provide but one we specialise in. If you go for folded posters, think about where the folds will be. It’s easier to see images and text if they don’t fall on a fold, so bear this in mind when designing your poster.
Choose your preferred paper
All our paper is FSC© certified, so you can rest assured it’s sourced from forests that are sustainably managed. Our papers can also be recycled when they’re no longer needed. We stock a range of poster paper and would advise printing on 150-200gsm paper for flat posters, high-quality, heavyweight paper without any transparency. We’d recommend choosing 115gsm paper for folded posters, which will produce a sharper fold. You can also choose gloss, silk, matte or uncoated paper, with silk being a popular choice.
Litho vs digital
Dennis Maps offers printing on digital or litho printers. Not sure which to choose? Our litho printers – including a KBA Rapida 162a – are excellent value for money if you’re printing a large quantity of posters. Our digital printers – a Ricoh C7500 Pro printer and Canon ColorWave T65 – are ideal for print runs under 250 sheets.
Finish it off
After your posters are printed, there’s the option to add a gloss or matte laminate, if you would like. This offers some protection against inclement weather and makes posters more durable, a useful option if they’ll be displayed outdoors.
Pack it up
We offer a range of recyclable packaging for your posters, including cardboard tubes for a single or small number of posters, and pallets for bulk orders. Posters can be delivered to one or more addresses, depending on your preference. Sending promotional posters to clients? We can add your posters to customisable presentation boxes, pack them with tissue paper and stickers, then send them directly to your clients, for a personal touch.
